Will my ex come back or is he just on to the next one?

okay so my Ex and I had been going out for about 2 months. A few weeks into our 2nd month, anniversary, i break it off with him! but the next day i let him know im still willing to work things out with him. So by this time he's pretty much like so were done? and im like for now cause i was having mixed feelings about him. and so he goes out that weekend and we dont talk for like 4 days straight. In that time he goes out of town with his homeboy and i went out of town as well with some friends. But as soon as he figured i wasnt calling or texting him he leaves me a message on Facebook. So then i end up calling him just to see what was wrong or whatever. And so he says that he has a new phone and lost my #? so by this week were still having you know like still with those same feelings but were not together. But for that whole week we spend together were good up untill he brings up the fact that we should be friends? cause he said we argue to much etc. and im like really we cant just be friends?!! were having like everyday!! and so the weekend comes again and we dont talk but today he calls me up and comes over and we have once again? then he says..."this is bad cause we still should just be friends"....then im like who is it? and he goes nobody...and i say yea it better just be me you like and he says..."well this girl blah blah...i like her just as much as i like you"...and he smiles then i mmediately frown like what why would you say that even if we are broken up? and he gooes im just playing i wanted to see how you would react? im thinking that he does like this girl and thats why he's not putting forth the effort to make things work with us?
