Pairing wine and a dessert?

i was thinking of giving my cousin a bottle of wine and a dessert for her bridal shower. is this ok? she asked for money but i can't spend much so i want to get her something to enjoy. she's been stressing over the wedding details and i she loves sweets! i was thinking it might be nice for her to just relax and have some dessert with her fiance. what are some good pairings of wines and desserts? do you need a dessert wine with dessert?
