Psychotherapist.. what is your experience with them?

What I mean is if you are a psychotherapist what do you do.. in detailed info? And if you have been to a psychotherapist what do they do with you? and also what do they get paid? I am really thinking about being a psychotherapist so I want to know what I will be doing for the rst of my life! I already have an idea from Research, but would life a persons point of view. thanks!!
